Winter Getaways on the Cheap

With most of our budgets bordering meager to non existent for travel, DivaCafe has been searching for places for our members to visit this winter. So, if you are looking for winter sports or more moderate temperatures to warm your bodies, there are places to go where you can economize but still enjoy your vacation or short getaway!

Cruising is one of my favorite ways to travel. It offers you an inexpensive way to see more than one place and most essentials are included. If you love being pampered and want to spend a relaxing vacation, this is tops on my list!

Three day excursions start at about $149 and if you need airfare and book it at least 2 weeks in advance, there are normally affordable rates available. Once you board, most food and travel is included and there is always plenty of nightly entertainment and activities to participate in.

If you would like a little more excitement for your vacation, Las Vegas has fantastic prices and packages for all your needs. You can get a weeks stay for two at Hard Rock Hotel and flight for less than $1,100. This is based on current rates leaving from Laguardia airport on Dec 12 and returning on Dec 19.

At Cheaptickets.com, you can find incredible packages for skiers! Airfare and hotel from Denver to Salt Lake City with a 3 night stay at Copperbottom Inn for $289. Be prepared to add a ski package.

You can also plan day excursions or a one or 2 night week day stay in a luxury hotel. Many hotels deeply discount weekday visits. Check around and visit some of the travel search portals such as Cheaptickets.com, Travelocity, Travelzoo.com and Expedia.com.
