With spring just around the corner,
designers are already debuting hot new spring 2011 makeup trends on
the runway. Magazines litter the shelves at local stores, full of
articles about which makeup trends are the most prominent and
anticipated for the winter thaw this year. The following four looks
under $10 can be purchased at department and drug stores across the
country, or ordered online from companies like Sephora. These
recommendations are inspired by articles available in recent Vogue,
Elle, Cosmopolitan and PEOPLE Style Watch magazines, in addition to
what designers are employing on the NY runway.
Spring 2011 Makeup Trends: Green eyeliner.
A splash of green, from emerald to lime, around your peepers is a big spring 2011 makeup trend, and bold, grass-inspired eyes will be big in the upcoming months. I recommend CoverGirl‘s exquisite “Liquiline Blast Eyeliner” in Green Glow, a soft pencil liner with a build-in smudger on the opposite end. The effect can be as bold as liquid liner, without the potential for mistakes, or smudged and subtle for only a
hint of green. The bright hue is very flattering for all eye colors, and it’s also a waterproof formula. I purchased my “Liquiline Blast Eyeliner” at Walgreens for $8.99.
Spring 2011 Makeup Trends: Bold eye shadow.
Vogue has been reporting Technicolor eye shadows on
the runway for several months now, and the look is quickly becoming
one of the hottest spring 2011 makeup trends. Put away the subtle
neutrals from winter 2010, and grab the boldest, brightest eye
shadow in the most eccentric colors you can find. I picked up the
“Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Shadows” in Tropical Fusion from CoverGirl for $5.99 at
Walgreens, which includes dark navy, deep teal, rustic copper and
bright lime green eye shadows. Once applied, the effect wasn’t as
overstated as I feared, and I’ve fallen in love with the teal hue
and lime green when applied with my new eyeliner. The kit includes
matte and sparkly hues, for the options for applying together or
wearing alone are very diverse.
Spring 2011 Makeup Trends: Fuchsia and Petal-Inspired Lipsticks
For this spring 2011 makeup trend, you have the
option of reaching for fuchsia lipsticks in either matte or glossy
finishes, or opting for bold, loud hues typically reserved for
spring flowers. According to Vogue, the Milan runway was full of
models wearing these bright lipsticks options, and Hollywood has
plenty of leading ladies displaying fuchsia hues on their smiles. I
opted to try Maybelline’s "Color
Sensational” lipstick in Fuchsia Fever (shade #140). The
lipstick is creamy and applies easily, and the color was very
true. My tube of this fuchsia lipstick was $7.79 at
Walgreens.
Spring 2011 Makeup Trends: Pencil Lip Gloss
Not to be confused with pencil lip stain,
pencil lip glosses are highly convenient and completely addictive
when worn alone or over your favorite lipstick hue. While shopping
for this spring 2011 makeup trend, I found dozens of pencil or
pencil-like lip stains available, but I finally settled upon
Milani’s “Lip Flash” shimmer gloss pencil in
Star Flash (shade #8). This iridescent, shimmering
pink hue reminded me of the Petal-Inspired shades of lipsticks
appearing on the runway, and the reflecting light made my lips
appear considerably fuller. Although eight colors are available, I
recommend Flashy, Photo Flash, Hot Flash or Star Flash for spring
2011, especially layered over a fuchsia lipstick base. I picked up
my gloss pencil for $6.49 at Walgreens, and I highly recommend this
must-have makeup trend.

I have come to notice that everything is evolving around fashion and whats "in" these days, which is a good thing because things we loved that we never thought would come "back" have proved us wrong. Vut if you want to tone down the pink color go for a mauve that way your getting your pretty pink and its more sophisticated :) Ultimately, I think if it looks good, your comfortable, and you absolutely love it, go for it. :)
