With most people itching to see the first buds of spring, it’s no wonder that the spring 2011 makeup trends are taking off left and right with dozens of Red-Hot styles to choose from. In a follow-up to my first article for DivaCafe on the newest spring 2011 makeup trends, the following top 5 are some of the latest looks—with tips for how to wear them in the most flattering ways! You can read more about these styles in magazines like Cosmopolitan, PEOPLE, Style Watch, Vogue and Elle.
Spring 2011 Makeup Trends: Coral Lipstick.
The coral lipstick trend has rivaled the
fuchsia lipstick trend ever since magazines, designers, celebrities
and Beauty-fanatics started to decree which looks would be hottest
for spring 2011. Where fuchsia lipsticks often have a blue tint
base, coral is on the opposite end with the orange/yellow tint
which is highly flattering for olive skin tones; the blues tend to
look better on fairer complexions. Softer, peach-hued varieties are
more subtle and forgiving on all skin tones. Pair this look with
natural eyes and a faint coral-red cheek for a fresh-faced look
perfect for spring 2011!
Spring 2011 Makeup Trends: Pastel Pinks.
Whether you opt for pastel pink lipstick, blush
or nail polish, this blossom-inspired hue is perfect for a garden
fresh look in spring 2011. Dewy, glossy lips are hot—whether you
choose lipstick or one of the lip gloss pencils, which I
recommended in my past spring 2011 makeup trends article.
Fingernails with jelly bean worthy pink paint are fun and festive,
and most complexions can handle a healthy, shimmering blush in
soft, pastel pinks. As an added bonus, you can pair this makeup
trend with several other looks hot for 2011; smoky eyeshadow, green
eyeliner, or bold eyeshadows in eccentric shades can all handle the
subtle addition of pretty, pastel pink lips, cheeks or nails.
Spring 2011 Makeup Trends: Smoky Eyeshadow.
Arguably one of the most frequently reoccurring
makeup trends in the last two decades, the smoky eye look is once
again making Beauty headlines. This sultry, smoldering look can be
deeply intense for evenings out on the town, or you can channel a
milder version during the daytime by using grey and off-white
instead of the richest, darkest charcoal and black options. The
smoky eye color pallet is flattering on almost everyone, making it
a very versatile spring 2011 makeup trend. Pair with minimal
lips and cheeks to keep from overwhelming the look; natural, nude
options work best. The lighter version can pair nicely with
a subtle, pastel pink lipstick, but the bold coral for spring 2011
should be avoided with smoky eyeshadow.
