One of the many misconceptions about mineral makeup
is that it doesn't offer proper coverage. Due to this myth,
many women miss out on the many benefits a pure mineral makeup can
offer their skin. It is very possible to cover blemishes,
sunspots, age spots, and red patchy skin when using the proper
products, tools and proper application.
A Good Concealer
A
good multitasking concealer is key to a flawless look.
Mineral concealers are heavier in texture when compared to
foundation, making it possible to cover imperfections while using
less product. Concealer is used just prior to the foundation
application. Concealer is only as good as the tool that is
used to apply it. A concealer brush is essential to get the maximum benefit from your
concealer. These brushes are firm and the bristles fit tight
together in an effort to better hold the concealer product and
prevent excess from escaping the brush. It is recommended to
have two concealer brushes in your brush set. A smaller size
for around the eyes, nose and mouth, and a larger size which could
even include a flat application brush can be used for the cheeks, chin and
forehead.
The Ultimate Application
Now that you have the product and tools necessary to achieve a
flawless mineral makeup application, it is time to put those tools
to work!
After waiting 5-10 minutes for your moisturizer to dry, begin
applying your concealer with your concealer brush directly on top
of the imperfections you wish to cover. The application is
similar to the foundation application. First you swirl your
brush into the concealer. You will really want to work it in
so the product stays put in the brush. Tap the excess off the
brush and apply. You may need to work the product onto the
skin a few times before you see a visible difference, especially on
sun and age spots. Your small brush will work best to cover
the broken capillaries around the nose, under the eyes, and
stubborn blemishes while the larger brush will work best over
larger discolored areas on your skin. Don't be concerned if
your skin looks spotty after using your concealer. Remember,
your foundation's job is to even out your skin tone. Apply
your foundation as normal working around the face in circles until
you achieve the coverage you desire. If you still notice a
difference between the areas you concealed and the rest of your
face, you may want to reapply your foundation over those concealed
until the skin appears more even. Finish by using a clean
kabuki or large veil brush which will remove an excess product from
your face that may be hiding around your nose, on your
eyebrows and chin. This step will also keep your skin from
looking "over powdered".
Time Saving
Option
If after exercising the above steps you find
you are looking for yet a fuller coverage, consider another option
that may save you time as well as meeting your coverage
expectations. Begin applying concealer as directed
above. When you are ready to apply your foundation, try
mixing an equal combination of your foundation and concealer.

just that. Our Custom Blend
