Sooo…. Love is in the air. February is the month of
cupid and kisses. Roses and chocolates are still the keys to most
gals’ hearts but a much deserved trip to a nice romantic inn or
retreat will do the trick too. So let’s explore some of the most
romantic hot spots together.
For starters; a good old fashion traditional cruise can do wonders for your love life. Yes, it can be a bit crowded so in this case I highly recommend a couple’s cruise. Such cruises cater to lovers. No screaming kids or giggling girlfriends, just you and your honey. And everyone knows about the close quarters on ships. Normally the sleeping arrangements would be an annoyance but considering the circumstances – the closer, the better!
Can’t decide to where to sail? Here are a few suggestions; try a South Pacific Cruise, Mexican Riviera or Polynesian Paradise Cruise. Beautiful crystal blue waters, exotic and spectacular scenery – perfect for sitting out on the deck & setting the mood… Perhaps with a couple margaritas in hand…Or a Shirley temple if you’re not too keen on alcoholic beverages. No matter. It’s not needed. The atmosphere alone will set the mood for a more intimate experience.
Need another option? Okay I get it. What if you’re afraid of big boats surrounded by lots of water? No prob. Maybe you’d enjoy silk sheets, deep tissue massages and on demand room service at the exclusive St. Regis Resort in Aspen, Colorado. This hotel has topped the list of many bloggers and with good reason. If it’s steamy passion you’re looking for this time of year, you’ll find it, even amongst the snow covered mountains in Aspen.
You can feel free to snuggle up by the fire and sip
on wine or a cup of Godiva hot chocolate. This resort offers
honeymoon and couple’s packages which include spa treatments,
massage, a variety of activities and fine dining.
…And for the home bodies out there bound to your residence due to lack of funds or work related reasons. Never fear, the love doctor is here. Did you know you can create your own getaway? Where would you like to go? Think about it and then redecorate your room to match your desired destination. You can find what you need in most travel or souvenir shops but as a bonus I’ll throw in a few tips.
Fantasy Getaway Recipe: Rose petals ($1), Taper Candles (.50) and holders ($1) courtesy of your local dollar store, your choice of decorations – example; if you want a Tiki hut feel, you’ll need a few Tiki mask or prop torches ($2-$4) from a costume store or souvenir shop. Put them on the wall. Download free Tiki or Caribbean music from your computer and play it softly in the background. Dress the part. A sleeveless island dress should do it or be daring and wear a grass skirt and coconut top. Be creative! Choose your destination & go!
Love is in the air and it’s the perfect time for travel whether it’s away from home or in the bedroom. It’s a trip you don’t want to miss.
