Women's Networking and Social Community
I
have been given the envious task of writing about relationships for
our Divas here - A humbling task as I am among screamingly talented
women and am now going to be on the spotlight by writing this. So
here’s an idea - let me start by honoring them so there is a
cushion to land.
I have scores of stories to share – both my personal ones and stories that I have been an audience to. However, I am especially amazed with the relationships I have developed on the internet.
Right from Blogosphere to Diva Café I am suddenly enriched by my association with some amazing individuals. I recently moved countries as my base. While that made me a bundle of emotions anxious of what my changed life would incorporate – I could still be totally complacent about the rock solid stability in my virtual world. I would miss no one and would have them to cherish like I always did. All the rooms in my world of Blogosphere were still just where and how I liked them. The sense of relief at that thought is unparalleled.
It is amazing how some of people I met over the internet have become an integral part of my life. Like really important integral part at that! There are individuals I have quickly started loving and admiring, people I have welcomed with open arms in my life, people I am about to start a business venture with, people I pray for each and every night, people who were nonexistent before I ventured into this virtual world.
I have learned relationships nurtured all our lives are vulnerable, especially with relatives. We have to be a certain way to please all of them, fit all expectations, match the raised bars and try our very best not to be judged. And if we are - then try to keep the tears from rolling – put up a brave front and walk on. Here in Blogosphere – ah what a bliss it is – just put your feet up and be yourself. I am just a picture with some words here – and that’s all I am expected to be. I will be cherished no matter what – even if it is through a critic in my blog posts. It will only help me improve.
I have a group in Facebook called Ladies Club. We are a bunch of some 200 odd women from various spheres of life. Ladies Club is a place where six degrees of separation finds its true meaning. Most women there only know the person who introduced her to the club and is a stranger to all else when she comes in. But it blows my mind each time I see the women coming together whenever one is having a problem. Whether it be court cases, marital problems, motherhood dilemmas or anything else internet pals rule.
“God gave us relatives – thank god we can choose our (virtual and real) friends.”
