Chances are if you’re a mom, you hold many titles. I applaud Dede for her hard work and dedication to the “Diva” forums! We are a rapidly growing group made up of women from all backgrounds and expect continued growth in the coming year. I encourage you to invite family, friends, co-workers and other women to explore this valuable cyber community. For the first article I’m writing for Diva Moms, I felt it most appropriate to write a brief introduction. I ask that you all do the same, in the “comments” section. I am Karen Kennedy, freelance writer and mom extraordinaire. Just kidding, I’ve barely skated by the last 25 years of motherhood. I have three exceptional children. Sometimes it seems as though they are the only purposeful things I’ve done. I’ve been a teen mom, a military mom and now I am just a mom. No matter how we try to define ourselves by relationships with other people, the true defining traits are within. As mothers, we don’t always get the credit we deserve for the dedication we put forth. In our hearts, we know that someday all that hard work has got to pay off! For you young moms, I promise it does. When you see your child walking across the stage, on graduation day, the memories pour in. I’m the nutty mom who ran across the lawn and fell down. It was a monumental occasion; my daughter was diagnosed with Lupus at age 17. All of a sudden, you begin to weep. Part of the emotion stems from joy, the remainder is relief. Diva Moms Cafe is a great forum for moms who want to network with other moms. For those who want the variety of useful information, a great community and tons of cyber fun, stay tuned to Diva Moms Cafe! Okay, it took me a few moments to decipher the acronym SAHM (haha). Girl, there's so much you can do from home it's unreal! Gone are the days of ads at the back of the Enquirer that call for stuffing envelopes for cash! Welcome to the information age and things such as Virtual Assistants. The availability of "virtual" jobs depend upon your experience level. Here are some good places to research for SAHMs seeking opportunities:
1. Guru.com
4. Elance.com
For Alpine Access, check the regions they service currently. They used to only have reps in Texas, Colorado and Oklahoma; it may have changed. Alpine Access is a customer service based Denver company that employs virtual contractors to handle various accounts. Saving hassle, headache with getting kids ready, fuel costs and traffic are just a few of the benefits of working from home. Check out those 5 and let us all know how it goes! Remember, if you don't take good care of yourself, you're no good for anyone else.

Hey all - I am a MOM here in the Dallas area..I SAHM to be taxi to a 6 and 15 yr old sports, activities, friends it is full time- but I also place Au Pairs and provide support to the girls and the host families here in the Dallas area- all this while studying to get my Real Estate license....my life is at a crossroad as I send one child off to college in 2 yrs and the other is getting into the swing of Elementary...Looking to Divas for some friendship and networking..if there is some way I can help you in the Dallas area don't hesitate to ask...:-)

Hello er'one! I am a new Diva :) I just moved to Columbia/Spring Hill, TN and would like to meet some other Diva's out there that might live near by...strike up a friendship even...it's been quite hard getting out and meeting new people, I am a Mommy of 2 and a wife :) Hope to catch up with some Diva's soon!

Yes ... I LOVE all of what I do... and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE Diva Cafe -- Its always a great time to catch up wind down,, and communicate with other Diva's and mommies alike!

Hi everyone, I'm new. I have a son that will be a year old on July 30th and I have another son on the way, due in November. I was hoping I could get to know some nice ladies out there and possibly set up some playdates or whatever. Just really have no one right now and would like to meet some more trustworthy friends hopefully? Nice to meet you all!
