Dont touch me, confusion, sweat (haha)
I just saw your post about this contest. here goes....

1. Estradiol is the estrogen of youth. It produces the secondary sex characteristics. It is most abundant when we are young and full of energy, no wrinkles, weight easily to control, sex drive skyrocketing, low to no incidence of heart disease, cancer- in general feeling great and if we took a minute to be thankful to any hormone in our life, Estradiol should be the one.

2.Estriol is the estrogen of pregnancy. When we aren’t pregnant we do not make any significant amounts of this hormone. Large quantities of estriol are released into the blood stream to help feed the baby’s nourishment and life source, the placenta. When the pregnancy ends, the amount of estriol we make rapidly diminishes and we are back in the Estradiol production mode.

3.Estrone is the estrogen of menopause. It is a reactive, negative and miserable feeling estrogen. The increased production of estrone coincides with the increased incidence of breast cancer and heart disease in women over 50.
I'm ready for question #2! Bring it on! : )
Second question posted for our contest!! Thanks Donna!! Cynthia, not too late to add your answers and continue the contest!!
Dede is really goofy lol. When I whipped up this contest, I wasn't thinking obviously. Everyone will follow lead from the last person posting. I guess I had a senior moment:)
Bioidentical hormone therapy or natural hormone therapy refers to the use of hormones that are molecularly identical to endogenous hormones...the ones your body produces.

In a word...they're safer because your body doesn't know that anything has changed from when you were producing them on your own. synthetic hormones are linked to breast cancer, heart disease and other negative side effects.
Thanks Donna:) I hope this helps you understand more about them:) I am feeling soooooo much better:)

The delivery method of hormones is important. When estrogen is taken as a pill, it’s first processed through the liver.This stimulates proteins associated with heart disease and stroke, such as C-reactive protein, activated protein C, and clotting factors. When delivered by transdermally, estrogen isn’t first processed by the liver and — at the same level of blood concentration — doesn’t have these effects.

Have posted question number 3 for our contest:)
DHEA, Dehydroepiandrosterone, is a natural steroid and precursor hormone produced by the adrenal glands. Besides DHEA, your adrenals also make the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline. Adrenal exhaustion from coping with chronic stress — from (among other things) poor nutrition, yo-yo dieting, emotional turmoil, and job-related stress — means your adrenals are bone-tired from pumping out cortisol and they simply can’t manufacture enough DHEA to support a healthy hormonal balance. DHEA is a very powerful precursor to all of your major sex hormones: estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. (Its molecular structure is closely related to testosterone). We call it the “mother hormone” — the source that fuels the body’s metabolic pathway.

Low DHEA levels result in.

* Extreme fatigue
* Decrease in muscle mass
* Decrease in bone density
* Depression
* Aching joints
* Loss of libido
* Lowered immunity

Taking DHEA can reduce or eliminate these symptoms.
Final question posted for our contest. Good luck. Donna is almost there but not too late to get into it!
Controlled studies show that slightly increasing testosterone levels in aging women restores sexual drive, arousal, and frequency of sexual fantasies. In fact, low testosterone levels in women of all ages seem to suppress libido and cause sexual dysfunction. Restoring youthful testosterone in women has been shown to improve mood and well being, and to provide many other health-enhancing benefits.
I didn't think I was going to make it. I've been away from my computer all day.
