How Your Blog Can Increase Traffic For Your Business

The topic of blogging arises yet again! Even if you are new to the whole “blogging for business” thing, I strongly suggest you get on board and at the very least, get your feet wet.

I know blogging can be a bit scary and down right intimidating – especially if your not that into writing, but you must realize that you can create a successful blog when your focus is in the right place…your audience!

One of the biggest mistakes I believe newbie bloggers make is that they tend to put most of their efforts in to how they can make money with their blog. They add tons of affiliate banners, google ads and so on expecting “clicks for cash”. The problem is, they haven’t even established a readership yet.

To really increase traffic for your business and encourage online sales, use your blog to give your readers what they want – useful, quality content! Regardless if your a “good” writer or not, if you blog to share the things that interest your audience and can help them, you will grow your readership and increase your traffic...continue reading article

Hi Lindsay,

In my opinion, the same rules apply when starting a free blog or a blog on hosted site...know your audience and aim to please! You can create a free blog on any of the free services available but I recommend Wordpress.com or Blogger.com, check them both out and see what you'd prefer.

I have read lots of info on this and it's purpose..and totally can see how it works...my biggest question is and why I haven't done so...what the heck to write???? I know it should be something of value and good content, but again, with SO many topics to choose from...I guess I may have blog block?? lol. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hi J. Janea....my suggestion to you to determine what to blog about is to decide what exactly it is you are knowledgeable in and passionate about that you would LOVE to share with others. When blogging, you always want to remember to give value to your readers! Hope this helps!!!

Hi Andrea, interesting post! I recommend you add at least 5 more to give people a reason to stay on your site longer. An 'About Me' page is a great way to let people learn more about you and gives you the chance to share why you love doing what you do! Keep up the great work, I'm here if you need any advice.
