i'm a waitress at olive garden and we have a soup called chicken gnocchi (pronounced nyo-kee) but most people have trouble pronouncing it. i have actually had people ask me for the chicken nookie....

awww. that's really sad ashlee. i'm sure you got better in time.

i've got a really embarassing waitress story of my own that i will never forget. it was one of my first times ever hostessing a banquet. i was basically managing about 12 waiters/waitresses and bus boys for a party of about 200 people. i was the most experienced one there and things were getting hectic. My "to do" list was piling up so i started handing out small errands for others to run. The most recent "to do" was for a man in a baby blue suit- he needed a pot of de-caf coffee. I turned to the most readily available bus- boy and asked him to please hurry and get the man in the light blue suit a pot of de-caf coffee. He said he couldn't do it. I told him exactly where to find the de-caf. He said he couldn't do it. I lead him to the de-caf machine on my way to find another setting for a table that needed one. When i was passing through on my way out with the extra table setting, the boy was still walking around baffled. I looked at him and said, "Why can't you just give it to the man in the blue suit?!, there's only one blue suit out there!"
To which he replied in a sad and ashamed voice, "I'm color blind!"
How embarrasing. I felt like such a jerk. Now if i have something that needs done that involves color i always ask to make sure my directions will be understood. Poor kid.

no dede ive never had a waitress nightmare. but i have however been the annoying watiress. i was still in training at our local ponderosa, and i was left to attend to a party of like 10 or 12 people, on top of the 2 families i was already handling. well being new to waitressing at the time, i couldnt remember who i had asked if their food was ok, gettting drinks, and all that stuff waitresses are suppose to ask. so id go around and just smile. but one of my families just never seemed happy.... it was a couple, probly my age or a lil older now. sooo i kept on going over there to ask if everything was ok. come to find out, the couple were friends of my trainer server, and everytime i walked by they were talking about something that i ovioulsy wasnt suppose to hear. but i guess i had walked by their table soo many times they complained that i was "annoying" to my manager. talk about embarassing. i never understood why though. but i'm the "annoying waitress" lol

Does anyone have waitress nightmares? When I used to wait tables, I would have a constant nightmare about not being able to get to a table that I was serving. I just never seemed to be able to make it to the table and people would get mad. Not sure why I had that dream.
