Seo Tips for Website Optimiazation- How to get a higher ranking on Google

Getting recognition from Google can be very challenging. When I began my first website, Allsinglesmeet.com, I had no clue how I was going to become visible enough for people to find it. I was excited about the opportunity to have a website, but when the reality set in that I had no visibility, I was dismayed.

I began to seek out information to help me learn the basics and it has been a 3 year process. It never stops!! In the first 2  years  of Allsinglesmeet.com, I spent over 4,000 personal hours working with optimizing and tweeking it. It was then destroyed, but that is another story.

So, to start with some basics in Seo 101, I would say that a great place to begin is with a targeted title tag on your homepage. DivaCafe is about Women's Networking, so if you browse over the open window for DivaCafe, you will see the title tag for DivaCafe. The unfortunate thing about my key terms is that they are not very widely searched. So, I must try for viral traffic over really trying to optimize for Google searches.

You can add title tags to your other pages as well and should. However, it is always good to slowly add your changes to see how effective they are and find out what is really making the difference for you. With my ning site here, I can only add the title tag to the homepage. It is a bit limiting. If you have a corporate site, you may not have the flexibility of adding any Seo changes or they may be very limited.

Having good, original content is KING on Google. If you have lots of content that is related to your site, you will see that google rewards you with more searches. I have added some articles from my dating blog here and noticed my pr ranking dropped here on on my dating blog since the content is duplicated.

I will leave with with these 2 tips for now and allow you to digest them. Giving too much info can be overwhelming.!!

Here are a few resources to help you begin:

You are my Angel of the day sweetie...This is exactly what I needed and have been searching the internet for two days. I am really trying to market myself now and need more than a visual site. Thank thank thank you am going to share on my facebook and Hootsuite...xoxoxox all is right with the world now..I really thought I was going to go MAD about given up.
Hi Paula!

I have much more to share but not enough time today and also think that too much info too fast does not help. Hard to digest everything if you are new to SEO. Are you talking about your blog for Estonia?? Which site do you want to optimize? I have to run soon as my aunt is here and busy today lol.

Great article Dede! I have been working diligently on my site this week. I found out that when it comes to keywords, what we think is widely searched may not be. I was directed to a tool called Insights for Search and it was an eye opener. All you do is plug in a keyword and it will tell you how many people search for that particular word. This tool has made a huge difference for me. I completely changed my keyword meta tags after using this tool. I hope it can help others as much as it has helped me!
Thanks Kristi!

I should have put this in as well. You MUST know what you are targeting or you can waste valuable time as well as money!!! You are such a resourceful Diva!!

I must admit this is all a foreign language to me and no matter how I try to understand it, I just can't seem to figure it all out.  I know IF I could it would help my Etsy shop as well as my blog but so much information out there and so hard to take it all in and really digest what I'm supposed to do =/

When I was looking around tonight I ran across this so as always I will read.  Rather I truly understand will be another story haha

Thanks!
