I have been on a fast track for so long now that it is time to put the brakes on a bit and enjoy life. After over 5 years of being single, I have found a great guy and am starting to pull back a bit on my self destruction.

By that, I simply mean that I intend to stop working so hard, feeling bad about my life and losses and enjoy my new guy and the life that I have now. I am healthy, employed and in love. Those alone a few years back would not have been enough.

Working 80 plus hours weekly has not had a positive effect on my life or ability to form relationships offline. It has caused me to develop severe anxiety and last year I got Shingles. Living life and not just working to live is my main goal in 2010.

So, I am going to cut back drastically on my work load and start sleeping much more than I have the past few years. Three to five hours per night of sleep is not sufficient time to rest your body and refresh your brain.

My Resolution is to take care of myself by sleeping more, eating healthy and working out on a regular basis.

What is your New Year's Resolution and are you really planning on sticking to it?

Well, this has been a very trying year for me. December 6, of 2008 I lost my mother-in-law to a tragic hit and run accident and not having her around has been hard on my family and me since I am the one who now has to hold us all together. But I feel that all things happen for a reason that might not make since at the time but eventually the reason will surface.

So, my New Year's Resolution is to be more positive about life overall and live life to the fullest, take healthy risk, spend time enjoying all the things I have to be thankful for and not just what I wish I could be thankful for.

My biggest resloution for 2010 is to believe in myself and what I can accomplsih and have faith that my business opening in 2010 will be successful.
Davette!! You are a true Diva!! Brave, positive and caring. It is hard to take the leap. Being positive can be much harder at times than it seems.

We spend so much time wishing we could change things or wondering "What if". Enjoying and living in the moment are so important and sadly many times overlooked.

If you believe that you can succeed ... then you really can:) I wish you the most wonderful Christamas and New Years. Also, look forward to getting to know you better.

I'm with you Dede on the eating healthy & working out for my New Year's Resolution. I also want to get more organized around my house. My home office is so unorganized :-( .
Susan,

I'm right there with you about the home office being unorganized. I'm getting organized this year as well. I've even created a grocery budget and an eating out budget for my husband and myself. I'm hoping to push hard to stick to it!

The end of the year for me is a time for reflection. I look back and see if I accomplished all I wanted and if not what I need to do in the upcoming year to do so. My life has changed so much this year. I was blessed enough to grow even more as a person. Ive rekindled broken relationships (fam & friends) and also cut loose those people who truly do not wish for me to succeed. I think every women should take more time for themselves, just to do something you love to do. Most important in doing this is the people around you. Keep those people who will only uplift you and challenge you in a positive light. Not those who are unhappy and chose to take it out on others. So my new years revolution is to maintain the positive road I am on, broaden my circle of friends and to love myself!
This new year will bring much success to me in many areas. I follow the Law oF attraction by Michael Losier and it seems to work. So my goals are the following:

My family. I want to reconnect with not only my kids and hubby, but with distant cousins from my dad's side of the family. Since his passing in 2006, I have lost touch with many family members and want to get to know them a bit better.

Myself. I am a bit of a couch potato glued to a laptop. I need to get back on my diet and begin a new exercise program. We recently purchased a Wii with the total exercise package and I need to utilize it. Not to mention the eliptical that is gathering dust as we speak. My goal is to lose at least 25 pounds by July, when For Your Pleasure holds its annual convention. In the same breath, I need to take some time out for just me....my biweekly manicure will be a gift to myself.

My business. This is of great importance to me because I have slacked off in the past and have not built the business I know I could have. So this means really stepping out of my comfort zone. I need to attend more DSWA meetings, talk to more people and spread the word about my fabulous business. I want to book atleast 4-6 parties a month (which is what my schedule allows) and bring in 1 new team member a month. This will take much perserverance and determination and dedication on my behalf, but with my goal in my face all of the time, I know I can accomplish this. I will be making myself a visual board with things I want to accomplish and things I could do with the extra money and keep it in a central location where I will see it every day for inspiration.

Lastly, I'd like to do more for the community. Life has been very good to me and I would love the opportunity to donate more of myself to a few good causes. Maybe volunteering for the Red Cross or my local soup kitchen. I already donate clothes, toys, household goods and food...but I'd like to do more so I can impact the lives of others in a positive way.

I don't have a home office so I cannot scold you for that lol. I work on my bed and my dining room table:)

Well Dede my resolution is exactly the opposite of yours. I will be increasing my business this year! Attending atleast 1 or more networking events per week. I will also attend my companies annual convention. I am transitioning out of a full time job to work at home full time. I want to build my team and increase my customer base. I am willing to work as hard as it takes to make it there.

Davette my heart goes out to you and your family. Believing in yourself is very important and once you accomplish this the sky is the limit.

I plan to win in 2010!!!!!!
This year I am going to try more to hand it all over to Jesus Christ, instead of standing in his way...all things are made good through him!

Jesus loved us so much that he gave his life, so we must be pretty darn special...you think...smile!

Your in Health,
Robin
Davette! How inspiring! It is definitely hard to go through what you've been through but you should be so proud of yourself for knowing how important your mom-in-law was not only in your life but the lives of others. To step-up and fill those needs is truly a blessing for everyone around you but also for you. She will continue loving your family through you! What a gift!

Living each day on purpose and with passion, is the best gift you can give yourself and your family!

Have a Happy and Blessed New Year!

Much Love to you all --28 years ago, i made a NY res to quit making res' and enjoy my children, life, food, work etc, it has been the only one i have kept so far and it is a beautiful thing,
it made all the things everyone talks about and/or struggles with doing so easy to accomplish as it removed a lot of the pressure we put on ourselves. Our expectations and all the emotional landmines that go with a need to change or make this one thing better actually get in our way so way to go Dede and may all of us have a very blessed 2010
:) Jo Ann
