What do you do when you suspect your coworker is stealing from you?

I have suspected for quite some time that someone was taking money from my purse and locker. I used to stuff bills in my wallet so sometimes didn't know exactly how much I really had but thought I was losing money somehow.

Recently, I realized that it wasn't me but someone was actually taking it so I baited the girl on Monday and she took the $5 I left in my locker. Today, when I returned to work after a day off, I checked my locker and it was missing.  I mentioned that we had it on video and soon would know who really took the money and she confessed to me and told me how sorry she was.

It was truly amazing that someone I had tried to help the past few months was taking money from me on a regular basis. I immediately reported it to my supervisor and she is no longer with us.

How would you handle the situation and do you feel that she deserved another chance?

Diva Dede,
No she didn't deserve another chance. She should have asked you. She thought so little of you to steal from you so don't feel sorry for her. She knew better, didn't care, and now she's gone. Her own fault.
My money is extremely tight! So, I have no tolerance for anyone that steals from me.
Tight or not, don't take my money or we will have a major problem.
Liars are the same. Just spit it out and we'll deal with it as it goes. Don't lie.

I'd be saying to her "Talk to the wrist because the fist is pissed!"
