I am thinking of setting up a series of speed dating sessions in my hometown   ... Hartford, CT.

Has anyone tried it? Tell me about your experiences... What did you like, love and or hate about your experience???

This would be a great help

Thanks Diva's

This may help you Tammara to avoid this pitfall . . . I have not participated in speed dating yet, but I've heard from a few people that the ones they've attended had more women there than men. I don't know if the organizers didn't invite many men per women or the men just didn't show up. I think that would be a drawback for me. I encourage you though to start sessions . . . best wishes!!
I went to a session with Match.com in Orlando about 5 years ago and there were only a few guys lol. We ended up having dinner and going out to a club. It was a blast but no successful match ups:)

Are you doing this for fun or do you have a business Tammara??
I am thinking of doing it as a business...

I have heard the key to this is heavy promotion, location and advance registration...

Thank you guys...

I went to a 8 Minute Speed Dating here in NJ and met my bf of 4 years now at it.

The night of the event there were too many women signed up, the hostess called men who had previously attended events (one of them being my future boyfriend) and offered them the event for free.

Since your looking to start doing this as a business and mode of making some extra cash, I would suggest you do the above if you notice that the man vs woman ration is not equal.

Good luck!

I tried it.  Had a blast!!!!  Nothing that led to dating, but met a lot of people (men and women) and just had a great time.  We all went out together afterwards!  Still in touch with some.  Definitely worth trying

From the business aspect, sell limited tickets.  Make sure the event has an equal amount of men and women.  The one I went to was exactly equal.   Nobody sat around waiting for the next date.  It was a constant cycle.
