Permalink Reply by LaKeisha Hankins on March 20, 2011 at 11:16pm I just happened to stumble across yout post. My co-worker has sufffered from insomonia and recently I introduced him to Ganoderma which is an herb from the Reshi Mushroom. He says he can definitely tell the difference since he has been consuming the product. I don't have any sample pills but I do have coffee and tea which also contains Ganoderma. Please feel free to inbox me and I can send you samples to try if interested.
Also google GANODERMA and insomonia and also Reishi Mushroom. I am not sure if it can help you but its an alternative to taking medication
Thanks,

Magnesium does help with muscle relaxation, especially if you're bothered with leg/toe cramps at night. Melatonin helps regulate the body's sleep mode to an extent, agreed. I think pharmaceutical solutions should be avoided if at all possible. I've seen lots of people become slowly hooked on them.
fww: the worst sleep robber throughout my lifetime has always been a lack of hormones. When I went into early menopause, I simply stopped sleeping altogether and nearly went mad as a result. Between hot flashes and no sleep, life was unbearable. A few days on a very tiny dose of estrogen and I slept normally, wonderfully again. Obviously, this only is relevant if you're approaching that stage. I'm a senior now & if I stop taking it, I go right back into horrible insomnia.
Permalink Reply by Mary Abbott Johnston on April 7, 2011 at 11:58pm If you have any of these symptoms: brittle nails, dry skin, weight gain, fatigue with the insomnia, have your thyroid checked out.... It can be a symptom of thyroid problems. Make sure your doc checks your T-3 AND T-4 levels. If you can, go to a naturopath. I have found them to be much more compete in their work ups.
If you have questions, feel free to contact me.... I have been thru everything with thyroid issues...
Permalink Reply by Lisa Hayslett on June 23, 2011 at 8:52am I am so exhausted at night - I don't have trouble going to sleep. I wake up at about 3am though and can't ever seem to get back to sleep! Have you tried the normal stuff - llike not eating before bed, relaxing by reading instead of TV, staying away from caffeine.
I think you can get some natural stuff to take. Hope you get some sleep soon.
