OMG, me! the funny thing is I get it for about 3 nights in a row every single month. Last 2 nights have been no walk in the park, that's for sure. Do any other divas experience this?

Ughhh I am so bad at sleeping!  I wouldn't say I have insomnia (even though the other night I did, only slept about an hour and a half) but I NEVER get a good and consistant sleep.  I usually read with a little lamp in my bed for 1 to 2 hours in order to tire out my eyes and get my mind to shut off.  But once I eventually fall asleep I wake up every hour or so either to go to the bathroom, to change position, etc.  I would say it's a lucky night if I sleep for 2 hours without waking.

 

Have you ever tried the calcium magnesium supplement?  I've heard that can help but I've never done it.  In the past I've had prescriptions to sleep which worked but my doctor won't regularly prescribe them because they can be habit forming.  I'm definitely open to help!

This is def the story of my life on a nightly basis.... I'm so tired of being tired. I always tell my boyfirned my body just doesnt want to sleep. :(

Have you tried relaxing before bed?? Deep breathing and allowing every area of your body to relax before you try to sleep? Also, what is your mattress like??
I have tried relaxing, but Ill be honest its hard... Im a branch manager of a bank and as soon as I leave work I head to law school at night. So when i get home I try to unwind but I can never sleep. We just got a ew matttress about a month ago and its like heaven, but I just cant seem to sleep longer than a hour or two if im lucky w/out waking up. And a good nights sleep is a total of about 5-6 for me.
Sleep deprivation is the worst thing. It can affect your health, job and relationships!! I have been selling mattresses for almost 15 years and I will tell you that if you are not able to sleep, it could also be  your mattress! When purchasing a mattress, invest in a GOOD one!!! Memory foam mattresses with materials such as latex and visco can really help you to get a more restful sleep as it relieves pressure points. If you want more info or have questions about mattresses, just let me know!!!
I most certainly do..even though I am on Ambien and a muscle relaxer. While I realize part of the reason I don't sleep is stress related...I stress about not sleeping. Does that make sense? lol My Ambien is taken around 7:00 so that I can fall asleep by 12:00..Have you had any luck curing your insomnia?
i was prescribed ambien a few months back. i took it and did not go right to sleep- just kept watching the TV. I ended up ordering over $500 worth of info-mercial stuff!!!!! oops! It was a little hard explaining that to the hubby. i did not remember a thing!
I was having problems sleeping a few months back including tons of stress. I asked my local pharamacist if he could help me find a sleep aid but also something I wouldn't get addicted to. Before that I was taking Tylenol PM's but the following day I was even more tired than I already was. So anyway he gave me these vitamins called Melatonin 5mg. He said alot of people who travel take these because of time changes in different countries. He said it helps release the chemical our brain makes sleepy. So I started taking them and they have been working great for me.I take one pill 30 minutes before bed time. I crash so hard I feel energized and this helps my brain stops thinking so much. I also don't feel tired the next day. They are also not expensive. I bought mine at my local walmart store.  

oh yeah I am always having problem getting even one night of sleep!  I have had this problem all my life and figured that i just have to live with it. I could normally deal with it, but once I graduated high school it got so much worse.  Since i have had graduated high school, my insomnia got so bad that I was failing college and badly falling asleep behind the wheel.  I have tried almost everything under the sun as far as over the counter sleeping aids and prescription ones.  I got a sleeping test done last year and no restless leg syndrome or sleep apnea.  but I had what they called "hypopneas" where your brain subconsciously wakes itself up for no apparent reason: 53 times in 6 hours?

 

so what do they put for diagnosis?  Depression cause I'm a Navy wife.

 

I have tried all sorts of non pill taking things.  from different beds to relaxation and meditation and yoga....

 

so now I have had been on a giant cocktail of antidepressants, antianxiety, and some doctors even put me on bipolar meds and anti-psychotics.  and GUESS WHAT??  they don't work either!!

 

I have just started taking Selinor which is a new drug....and this one has never worked!!  believe me I know insomnia!
