Yo yo yo, ladies! What female singers do you cling to for inspiration, to let your true feelings show or to give you a big smile? I want to see a collection of those singers I've heard of, or those I haven't yet. Lets keep it female to support those diva voices out there, as well as to inspire ourselves to keep moving..... I'll start the list:
I found this summer two new female vocalists,
Haley Westenra
Lucinda Williams

they're from the UK, i came across them back in 2002 and fell in love with their sound, and i've followed them since then.
Hi, Jenny! A few of my favorites are Karen Carpenter, Ella Fizgerald, Diana Krall and Jane Monheit. Here's a clip from one of Diana Krall's concerts in Paris. Enjoy and thanks for creating this group! Cheers, -Chari

PINK, Janis Joplin, Madonna, Heart, Brittney, Tina T., Loretta Lynn (& her whole 'clan') and quite a few! It IS Truly inspirational when Women can Succeed in a tough industry! If they can have their Family as well~INCREDIBLE. I think we ALL know how tough it is to be in the workforce & Care for your Family. Whether you work at home or outside, it IS very challenging to Balance and put in the Complete Effort to get your desired results!
There are so many more Divas that credit is due, but these are just a few that popped in my head! :) I might even have to add myself. :) lol.
The most inspiring performance of a Super Diva for me is by Melissa Etheridge belting out a Piece of my Heart by Super Diva Janis Joplin as seen at the 2005 Grammy tribute to Joplin. This number is supposed to be a duet with the drop dead gorgeous Joss Stone, but Melissa just steals the show when she makes her appearance at 2:30 into the video. Even my 20 year old son gets shivers hearing Melissa and seeing Melissa in this video. He barely pays any attention to Joss who is closer to his age.

When Melissa did the Joplin tribute, she was under heavy chemo therapy after undergoing breast cancer surgery.

Take notice Divas:

You know that you got it... Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
If it makes you feel good!

I love alot of different types of music. i love carrie underwood, taylor swift, pink, fergie, rihanna, beyonce, mariah carey, kelly clarkson
I'm inspired by Lady Gaga-- I know that may sound weird to some people because she's been described as "weird" and "freaky." I'm more inspired by the fact that she can express herself freely despite being criticized about her actions, words, and especially for her dress and still be as amazing as she is. Her confidence is through the roof and it's helped me to feel more confident about myself and to experiment with new styles (although not as crazy as her own) without feeling out of place. I would never have been as successful in my professional and personal settings without her to inspire me.
