Nowadays, beauty products are so readily available in stores such as Walgreens, Walmart, RiteAid, Big Lots and such. There are still beauty companies selling products that cost more than the typical Maybelline, Loreal, and Cover Girl. Do you prefer the pricier products such as those found at Ulta, Sephora, Mary Kay, MAC, Estee Lauder, Clinique and others? Chime in, I'm interested to see what women prefer. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Karen!
Great topic. I must say that I do love the more expensive creams as I believe they truly do work better! For about 2 weeks, I have been using L'occutane moisturizer and eye cream and the difference is dramatic. It was noticeable the first day. It is a french company that was rated very highly in a European publication.

I've passed the L'Occutane counter at Nordstrom's and wondered if the products really do work. The reviews seem really positive for products such as Oil of Olay Regenerist as well. Mary Kay still makes that darned hand emollient ointment that I really enjoy. I will have to check out that eye cream. Women should make sure they get enough rest, minimize stress (yeah right), and take a good multi-purpose supplement. I recommend Bio Super Food. It contains all the essentials along with mega antioxidants and there are no fillers. It seems to cover all bases, in that it looks for deficiencies in the body and fills in the gaps. It is a phenomenal product and the manufacturers believe in preserving this country and it's values upon which we were founded.

I usually stand in the cosmetic section at the natural foods stores far too long with a confused look on my face.
Permalink Reply by Karen Kennedy on February 14, 2012 at 10:56am Hi Wendy! Hmmmm. Have you been told that you can use any of the pure minerals makeup? My 16 year-old wears the mineral makeup and it has been much better for her face. I made her stop using the heavy foundations in bottles that clog the pores. She had acne pretty bad and the makeup was making it worse. When she began using the mineral foundation, her skin improved. The problem with many of these products is just that; they are heavy because they use gluten based fillers.
Permalink Reply by Lucie Walsh on March 23, 2012 at 3:42pm I love to use Mary Kay Botanticals and mineral make-up. Since I use the products, I have just join the company to be a consultant. Sometimes, it is worth paying for a better made product especially for your skin.

I must agree about the mineral-based products; they are better for the skin. I use a different brand when I apply makeup (not often, never learned how), but it is a mineral makeup. I haven't looked at what MK offers in many moons. I just buy the products for "satin hands" from my local rep. The emollient oil is fantastic!

I find the satin hands to be great. There is a spring collection for your feet that is out now. The emollient oil is great. I use to use bare essenticals for mineral foundation and I find that I like Mary Kay better. But, you should ask your rep for a sample to try.
